Loch Ken Eco Bothies

Off-Grid Holiday Lets

The Bothies

Loch Ken Eco Bothies lie within the UNESCO Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere, just south of the Galloway Activity Centre on the shores of Loch Ken. Located on the edge of Galloway Dark Skies Park you're invited to join us in absolute tranquility for a holiday you'll never forget. With arts and culture, wilderness walks, watersports and fine dining all within reach, South West Scotland has something for everyone.

There are four Bothies to choose from - each built by local architects to the highest standard with the environment and sustainability in mind. Decorated and furnished with tasteful and unique interiors, the Bothies provide a luxurious and relaxing home away from home.

Well behaved dogs are allowed in all the bothies.

The "Red Kite" Eco Bothy (4-6 berth)

Red Kite sleeps 4 - 6 people in sustainable style. With hot tub, fully fitted kitchen and rain shower it's the perfect family retreat.

The "Red Squirrel" Eco Bothy (2-4 berth)

The Red Squirrel sleeps 2 -4 and is the ideal place to slow down and soak up nature. Jump into the hot tub, relax and keep an eye out for the Red Squirrels!

The "Otter" Eco Yurt (2 berth)

If you're looking for a romantic break for 2, the Otter's unique design and private hot tub is everything you'll need for your special weekend.

The Osprey (6-8 berth)

The Osprey is the newest of the eco bothies. Sleeping up to 8 it has a hot tub, private deck and remarkable views. A holiday of pure peace and luxury.

The original Bothies are off-grid modular pods designed and manufactured locally by Architect Sam Booth of "Echo" Eco Houses. The Eco Pods were featured on series 1 of Channel 4's "George Clarke’s amazing spaces". We are proud to say that two or our Bothies were the first off Sam's production line and the range has now grown to include two new luxury off grid buildings.
